System Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced System Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure and systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. The System Engineer will work closely with other IT professionals, developers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Design and Implementation:
• Design and deploy scalable, secure, and reliable systems and networks.
• Implement system configurations, software, and hardware solutions.
• Integrate new technologies into existing systems.
2. Maintenance and Support:
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform regular updates and patches to ensure system security and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and resolve system-related incidents and problems.
3. Network and Security Management:
• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure.
• Ensure network security by configuring firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Monitor network traffic and implement necessary security measures.
4. Automation and Optimization:
• Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency.
• Optimize system performance through analysis and tuning.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks to reduce manual intervention.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain detailed system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.
• Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and utilization.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates and recommendations.
7. Project Management:
• Lead or participate in IT projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
• Manage project resources, timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 0-1+ years of experience in system engineering, network administration, or a similar role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
• Strong knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Certifications (Preferred):
• CompTIA Network+
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions

• Full-time position.
• Any critical incidents, may require occasional on-call or after-hours work for system maintenance and issue resolution.
