The Role
As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients which means some of the biggest in the world.
There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Administer multiple Linux servers running in a high availability environment
Linux systems performance, tuning, and enhancements
Install patches, configure machine and provide overall support of the Linux environment
Serve as an escalation point to resolve problems on Linux servers and user environments
Mentor Team Members, Linux systems administrators
Debug/troubleshoot & Performance tuning on Linux etc.
Should have strong OS administration skills on Linux RHEL (5,6,7,8)/Cent OS
Should have strong OS administration skills on Linux SUSE (12 ,15)
Should have hands on Solaris OS Administration
Exposure to Containers/Dockers, Microservices architecture, Open Shift
Experience on Cloud Iaas/PaaS.
Strong Experience on Yum & Satellite Servers and Patch management via Ansible.
Strong Experience in fixing and assessment on Linux OS Security, Vulnerability & Hardening.
Strong Hands-on experience of system management, system setup and managing Linux as well as configuring them. Demonstrable experience in UNIX, Linux Server Support, designing, troubleshooting and storage implementation.
Strong knowledge Troubleshooting experience on HA, HPC, SAP HANA clusters, Redhat Linux systems, SUSE Linux systems
Strong Technical leadership and End to End driving the Issue Resolutions including OEM and vendors
Scripting Knowledge needed Bash, Ansible, Perl scripting to automate aspects of systems maintenance
Proven analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
Expertise in Network and Firewalls along with knowledge about the Linux system files, boot process and Run levels.
Familiar with the configuration and maintenance of server and network hardware and peripherals
Provide root cause and failure analysis to resolve complex systems problems

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
12-15 years of overall experience
Minimum RHSA or SUSE Certified
Configure and install new Linux Servers (RHEL and SUSE)
Perl scripting to automate aspects of systems maintenance
Linux systems performance, tuning, and enhancements
Install patches, configure machines and provide overall support of the Linux environment
Serve as an escalation point to resolve problems on Linux servers and user environments
Design and document processes and procedures to automate common tasks
Work closely with Application Teams, Database Administrators, and Q/A personnel
Mentor junior Linux systems administrators
Provide root cause and failure analysis to resolve systems problems
Strong working knowledge of virtualization technologies and VMware products
Hands on Experience with HA on RHEL and SUSE
Strong scripting knowledge: Perl scripting, or bash, or Python; and command line utilities.
Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively.
Understanding of basic and intermediate TCP/IP and internet protocols required
Experience managing many mission critical servers
Strong knowledge of RHEL and VCS clusters installation, configuration and implementation.
Good experience on yum configurations and RHN network troubleshooting.
Hands on experience with Redhat Satellite, PXE boot strategy and kick start.
Previous experience with RHEL performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening
Excellent understanding and knowledge of Networking and Storage Technologies.
Hands on experience with SSH, NFS, DNS and LDAP.
Excellent working knowledge on the Linux and Veritas file system and logical volume management.
Knowledge of EMC technology, Time finder, BCV, SRDF
Involved in preparing the scripts and cronjobs for regular task automation.
Familiar with Apache webserver configuration.
Experience with Tomcat and/or WebSphere application server a plus.
Good team player - one who can prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment
Ability to handle heavy workloads with limited supervision.
Extending support with onsite engineers to address any Network related issues.
Qualification: B.E / B.Tech
