System Administration

Description

We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to join Haridwar University. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of experience in managing complex IT infrastructure and be well-versed in a range of technical skills. This is a full-time position based in Roorkee.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies
• Monitor system performance and security, identifying and resolving issues as they arise
• Manage user accounts and access privileges, ensuring compliance with security policies
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity
• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues and providing solutions
• Collaborate with other IT teams to develop and implement IT projects and initiatives
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for improvements to current systems and processes

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5-15 years of experience in system administration
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
• Experience with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
