Job Description
- Install, configure, and maintain Sybase database software and related tools.
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as required.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Backup and restore databases to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to optimize database performance and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
- Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration.
Qualification
- In-depth knowledge of Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) database management.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database security best practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
