We have an exciting opportunity for a
Surveyor Master Mariner to join our team of Maritime experts in technically supporting O&G projects and all marine casualties of any type and size worldwide.
What you will be doing.
As our
Surveyor Master Mariner, you will be assisting in delivering of business to provide sufficient surveyor coverage in the geographic area of responsibility. Conducting Maritime surveying tasks. Furthermore, you will need to be familiar with all aspects of ABL Marine services and key deliverables and will need to undertake your own chargeable time. In addition, you will:
- Need to familiarise yourself with all aspects of ABL O&G Projects and Marine services and key deliverables.
- Attend casualties and determine the nature, extent, and cause of damage.
- Attend marine warranty surveys, towage approvals, loadouts and single voyages.
- Estimate costs of repairs and subsequently compile reports for Clients.
- Assist in marketing ABL O&G, Marine and its services.
- Maintain own level of billable utilization above 60%.
- Cover the marine assurance part in the MWS projects.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
This position will be based in
Mumbai, India and the candidate must have the right to work in India. Flexibility and willingness to travel as well as readiness for onshore/offshore assignments at short notice locally and globally for periods would be required.
What we are looking for.
We are looking for a driven and solution-oriented professional with sound technical skills and good decision-making capabilities. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability, and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously. In addition, you will:
- Be an Unlimited Master Mariner (STCW II/2) or significant survey consultancy-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within the experience as master mariner or maritime consultant, preferably with DP vessel background.
- Demonstrate good decision-making capability with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement, and strong operational focus.
- Possess accurate reporting and the ability to deliver high-quality work on time.
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a good command of written and spoken English.
- Exhibit effective time management skills including an ability to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously.
Desirable:
- Held command on board.
- Shore based management experience.
- Previous experience from similar role.
- Other applicable experience (salvage master, SCR, pilot etc
- Previous marine survey experience.
