Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and experienced CCTV Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV systems for our clients. The CCTV Engineer will work closely with clients to assess their surveillance needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and ensure that systems are installed and configured to meet those requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of CCTV technology, networking principles, and best practices in security system installation.
Conduct site surveys to assess client needs and determine the optimal placement of CCTV cameras and equipment.
- Design CCTV systems based on client requirements, considering factors such as camera type, coverage area, lighting conditions, and budget constraints.
Install, configure, and test CCTV cameras, recording devices, monitors, and other related equipment.- Program DVRs (Digital Video Recorders), NVRs (Network Video Recorders), and video management software for remote access, motion detection, and other features.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CCTV systems, including camera malfunctions, network connectivity problems, and recording issues.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as cleaning cameras, updating firmware, and replacing defective components.
Provide training to clients and end-users on how to operate and maintain CCTV systems effectively.- Keep abreast of advancements in CCTV technology and recommend upgrades or enhancements to existing systems as needed.
Adhere to industry standards and regulations governing the installation and operation of CCTV systems, including privacy laws and data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the technical team and communicate effectively with clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience working as a CCTV Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of CCTV technology, including camera types, lenses, resolution, and video compression formats.- Proficiency in installing and configuring CCTV systems, including DVRs, NVRs, IP cameras, and VMS software.
Familiarity with networking principles, TCP/IP protocols, and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCT, CPSS, CCNA) are a plus.
