The role is to monitor, maintain, support, provide first level troubleshooting for all Sterling File Gateway, Symantec PP, Connect Direct, issues pertaining to file transfer and supporting infrastructure. The Support Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues
What You'll Do
- Analyse and implement optimal file transfer solutions based on business requirement.
- Create partner profile and channel configurations in File Gateway.
- Co-ordinate with internal and external partners during partner on-boarding process.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
- Research and recommend innovative and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
- Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
- Configure / add new services as necessary.
- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Follow established corporate Release and Change Management processes.
- Augment production support team to ensure 24/7 coverage and operations.
- Create custom business processes and channel templates to meet specific application file transfer needs.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as seen fit by the leadership.
What Experience You Need
- GCP Certification
- 2+ years of experience in IBM Sterling File Transfer, Sterling File Gateway, Symantec PP and Connect Direct
- 2+ years of experience in a UNIX environment.
- Advanced knowledge in administration and management of IBM Sterling File Gateway, IBM Sterling Secure proxy, IBM Control center and IBM Sterling External Authentication.
- Must be self-initiated and a team player.
- ITIL trained/certified
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
