Job Title: Supply Quality Engineer
Location: Coimbatore, India.
We are looking for a motivated, and resourceful, Supply Quality Engineer. In this role you will work directly with suppliers to satisfy YES's quality standards and strategy in the manufacture and procurement of Quality components. You will interact with all levels of supplier management. As YES's point of contact within the supply base, you will support transition and supplier development activities within your assigned geographical area. In support of a variety of supplier oversight functions, spending a large amount of your time at supplier facilities.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Monitor current supplier quality performance through Supplier Score cards and other processes.
- Managing the SCAR's program which includes issuing SCARs and ensuring that the SCAR's are returned, completed correctly, and validated.
- Coordinate between engineering, production personnel, and Quality Engineer to solve production quality issues created by the Supplier.
- Maintaining constant communication with supplier to ensure all quality requirements are being meet. First Article Inspection (FAI), Certificated of Completion (CofC), Certificates of Analysis (CofA), Metrology capability and stability.
- Review new change to current approved part (requested internal / external).
- Requesting, monitoring, and approving new requests on new revision design on a part or new part number to the current approved supplier.
- Engaging with suppliers and Supply Chain to help correct supplier behavior and performance.
- Assist with process of 2nd sourcing and supplier qualification
- Supplier audits and inspection (Accountability for Copy Exact Methodology)Design PCN process
- Coordinate with Design engineering on new products and new components.
- Coordinate with Quality Engineer to determine if the customer needs to be notified on new part design and process changes.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain (local and/or global) & Engineer on new component supplier qualifications for inclusion on the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and new supplier approval.
- Create/Manage the New Supplier approval process according to the QMS.
- Ensure that supplier documents on new part, or revised parts, are submitted, evaluated, validated, and approved before approval is given.
- Ensure QMS documents reflect the New Supplier or new parts reflects the new supplier part requirements.
- Critically analyzing the nature of defects while providing future solutions.
- Evaluate prospective and current supplier QMS.
- Monitor supplier Quality metrics associated with supplier capability, trends and related production improvement efforts.
- Lead/coordinate incoming inspection of parts/assemblies from suppliers with experience reading drawings and measuring parts.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, supply chain management or equivalent technical field required.
- 5+ years of experience in supply quality/supply chain or manufacturing.
- 2+ years of experience in engineering, program, or product management
- Six Sigma Methods, sourcing, Manufacturing, lean manufacturing knowledge and experience required.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to create/execute a quality vision, which is friendly to the timely operations of the organization.
- General understanding of quality statistics (metrology, SPC, distribution comparisons).
- Ability to effectively facilitate the implementation of significant changes in a large organization.
- Ability to build consensus across multiple organizations and all levels required for QMS introduction and adherence.
- Ability to simplify and clarify complex and ambiguous problems.
- Strong Project Management skills required.
- Strong customer management & communication skills.
- Broad supply chain and quality functional expertise.
- Proven ability to influence and provide multi-functional leadership across multiple sites and various businesses.
- Track record of driving solutions to assigned tasks utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated experience in global multi-site/multi business operations.
- Six Sigma certification preferred.
- ISO auditor certification and experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with implementing ISO certification standards required.
- Must be able to travel up to 30%, required.
- Experience in design/development/mfg of semiconductor equipment or front/back- end semiconductor manufacturing experience.
- Experience required with DMAIC, CAPA, RCPS (Root Cause Problem Solving), interaction and collaboration with suppliers and customers required.
