Job Description

The Supervisor - Smelting will oversee the daily operations of the smelting process, ensuring efficient and safe production of metals. This role involves managing the smelting team, coordinating with other departments, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operational Management:
    • Supervise daily smelting operations to ensure compliance with production targets, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
    • Monitor and control the smelting process, adjusting parameters to optimize output and quality.
    • Manage the maintenance and repair of smelting equipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the smelting team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
    • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the team.
    • Schedule and allocate tasks to ensure optimal use of resources and timely completion of production goals.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the consistency and purity of the final product.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the smelting process and output to identify and address any quality issues.
  4. Process Improvement:
    • Analyze production data to identify areas for process optimization and cost reduction.
    • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate best practices into operations.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct safety training sessions and drills for the smelting team.
    • Investigate and report any incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment maintenance, and safety incidents.
    • Prepare and present reports on production performance, process improvements, and team activities to senior management.
