The Corporate Strategy team works with senior leaders to help define the strategic direction of Thomson Reuters and translate the strategy into specific plans. We are seeking a Strategy Manager / Senior Strategy Manager to join the team and work on varied projects across Thomson Reuters, including in the corporate center and in the operating businesses (Legal Professionals, Corporates, Tax Professionals, Global Print and Reuters). This highly-visible role will provide the candidate with significant opportunity to advance within the Strategy organization or into other positions across the company
About The Role Key Role
- Support delivery of competitive insights and strategy projects, and supports strategic planning processes for the business of Thomson Reuters.
- Develop expertise in Thomson Reuters segments, and establishes Subject Matter Expertise.
- Help shape competitive insights agenda for segment leadership, and become a thought partner.
Position Overview: Nature of Work
- Market and competitive intelligence (based on publicly available information) of major competitors and global activities in customer segments. The analyst is expected to curate and analyze news and information of these constituencies and incorporate them into artifacts intended for distribution to senior management in the business.
- Carry out complex research and analysis in support of business unit or company strategies, acquisition pipeline development, the strategy planning process, and/or key operational issues.
- Closely monitor the markets to identify and evaluate emerging trends/ practices/ technologies being offered by competing firms/ clients in this space; and build a fact base to assist with the corporation's investment prioritization thought process.
- Build domain knowledge of the industry in conjunction with Thomson Reuters business. The Strategy Manager will have to interpret, analyze and put into context, information with respect to the businesses of Thomson Reuters
- Precise, cogent and meaningful communication of analysis into artifacts, both recurring and one-off.
About You Required Skills (Must have):
- 8-12 years experience in market intelligence or strategy.
- Strong problem-solving, structuring, and storytelling skills.
- Must proficient in communicating data through PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
- Core Skill-sets associated with Sector / Industry / Company analysis on financial and non-financial parameters.
- High degree of adaptability and result oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a global context and leverage domain experience of cross functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in unstructured/vague environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exposure to information industry terminology and an understanding of the operation of Thomson Reuters customer markets.
- Understanding of Market research methodologies.
Education and Necessary Industry Experience:
- Masters in Business Administration.
- Engineering degree preferred.
- 8-12 years of experience in market intelligence / Strategy / Consulting.
