Overview
As a Store Manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of our retail operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, leading a team to achieve sales targets, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and presentable store environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving the store's profitability and success.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure the store operates efficiently, effectively, and within budget
- Manage inventory levels and minimize shrinkage through regular stock checks and effective loss prevention strategies
- Lead and motivate a team of sales associates and other staff to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and exceed financial targets
- Monitor and analyze sales and financial reports, and take necessary actions to improve performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and store cleanliness to enhance the overall shopping experience
- Implement and maintain operational best practices for store layout, product handling, and customer flow
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate training and development for staff
- Collaborate with the regional and corporate teams to implement initiatives, promotions, and marketing campaigns
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting
- Ensure a safe and secure working and shopping environment
- Drive employee engagement and foster a positive work culture within the store
- Identify opportunities for process and productivity improvements
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a retail manager or in a similar managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management, sales performance metrics, and operational procedures
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and make sound business decisions
- Knowledge of retail software systems and proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with local labor laws and regulations
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
- High level of accountability and integrity
- Experience in executing visual merchandising and store presentation standards
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- Experience in multi-unit retail management (preferred)
