Storage Admin

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in storage and backup administration, with a focus on
Data Protector backup tool and HP Storage tools.
Relevant certifications such as HP ASE - Storage Solutions Architect V2, HP ASE - Data
Protector Software V9, or equivalent are highly desirable.
This role may require occasional on-call availability and off-hours work for maintenance and
upgrades.
Extensive experience with tape & media management, including tape libraries and tape drive
technologies.
Experience with enterprise storage solutions such as EMC, NetApp, or HP storage systems.
Proficiency in Data Protector backup tool and other HP backup solutions.
Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, RAID, and storage protocols.
Familiarity with tape library management software and tape drive diagnostics tools.
The Storage & Backup L3 position is responsible for managing and maintaining the data storage and
backup infrastructure of the organization. This role involves advanced technical expertise in storage
technologies, backup solutions, and tape & media management. The L3 engineer will lead the
design, implementation, and optimization of storage and backup systems, ensuring data integrity,
availability, and recoverability.
Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and DAS
environments.
Perform capacity planning, provisioning, and optimization of storage resources.
Monitor storage performance and troubleshoot performance issues as needed.
Administer and maintain backup and recovery solutions, with a focus on Data Protector
backup tool and HP backup tools.
Configure backup policies, schedules, and retention policies to ensure data protection and
compliance.
Perform backup and recovery operations, including backup verification and disaster recovery
testing.
Manage tape libraries and media pools for backup storage and archival purposes.
Perform tape management tasks such as tape rotation, labelling, and offsite storage.
Monitor and maintain tape drive health and performance.
Implement and enforce data protection policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.
Monitor data protection measures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of data protection practices.
Identify opportunities for performance optimization and efficiency improvements in storage
and backup systems.
Implement best practices and tuning strategies to optimize storage and backup performance.
Monitor system performance and capacity trends and make recommendations for scaling.
Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, procedures, and
policies.
Generate regular reports on storage and backup performance, capacity utilization, and
compliance status.
Provide recommendations for improvements based on analysis of documentation and
reports.
