The Stock Keeper is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods in a warehouse or stockroom. They ensure accurate inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and maintain organized storage areas to facilitate efficient operations.
Inventory Management:- Receive incoming shipments of goods and verify the accuracy of delivery against purchase orders or invoices.
Inspect and record the condition of received goods, reporting any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.- Update inventory records in the database or stock management system to reflect stock movements accurately.
Conduct regular physical inventory counts to reconcile actual stock levels with recorded quantities.
Arrange and maintain orderly storage of goods in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and categorization.- Rotate stock as necessary to prevent expired or obsolete items from remaining in inventory.
Implement efficient storage solutions to maximize available space and facilitate easy access to stored goods.
- Keep storage areas clean and organized, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
Stock Issuance:
- Fulfill internal requisitions for stock items, accurately picking and packing goods for distribution.
Prepare and package items for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling according to shipping requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments or personnel to fulfill stock requests in a timely manner.
Maintain records of stock issuances and distribution to track inventory movement.Stock Replenishment:
Monitor stock levels and reorder points to identify low inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders.
- Communicate with suppliers or procurement staff to place orders for replenishment stock as needed.
Follow up on purchase orders and delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of replenishment stock.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of stock transactions, including receipts, issuances, and adjustments.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies for management review.
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, assess stock turnover rates, and recommend inventory optimization strategies.Quality Control:
Inspect incoming stock for quality and accuracy, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on stored goods to identify and address any issues of deterioration or damage.
Collaborate with quality assurance personnel to implement corrective actions and maintain product integrity.
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certification in inventory management or logistics is a plus.- Proven experience (2+ years) in a stock keeping or warehouse management role.
Familiarity with inventory management systems or software applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and record-keeping.
Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
