Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a personable and energetic Steward to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and have excellent customer service skills. The Steward will be responsible for setting up tables, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables.
Present menus, take orders accurately, and provide detailed information about menu items, specials, and promotions.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure all guest requests are attended to efficiently.
Clear tables between courses and after meals, ensuring the table setting is maintained throughout the dining experience.
  • Table Setup:
Set up tables according to the restaurant's standards, including arranging cutlery, napkins, glasses, and other tableware.
  • Ensure table settings are clean, complete, and arranged attractively.
Food and Beverage Service:
  • Serve food and beverages in an efficient and courteous manner, following service standards and safety protocols.
Assist with the preparation of beverages, including serving water, coffee, tea, and other drinks.
  • Ensure that hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold, and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure proper timing.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables, sweeping, and organizing the service stations.
Follow hygiene and safety guidelines for handling food, beverages, and utensils.
  • Report any broken or damaged equipment to the supervisor or manager.
Customer Interaction:
  • Engage with guests professionally, responding to their needs and inquiries promptly.
Address guest concerns and escalate any issues to the captain or manager if needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Collect feedback from guests about their dining experience and relay it to the management team.
Assisting with Restaurant Operations:
  • Support other staff members, including waiters and kitchen staff, during peak times to ensure a smooth service flow.
Assist in restocking the service area with cutlery, glassware, and other essentials.
  • Follow closing procedures to ensure the dining area is ready for the next shift or business day.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience as a Steward, Waiter, or in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Positive attitude, punctuality, and a team-oriented approach.
  • Basic understanding of food and beverage pairings is a plus.
  • Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic training in hospitality or food and beverage service is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 18,
  • 00 - 22,000.00 per month
