STEM Facilitator is responsible for the overall successful delivery of UWD's STEM program. Each day you will lead session activities, engaging and enthusing a group of young people while fulfilling the learning outcomes. Working and mentoring with a Junior Facilitator (Youth Facilitator). STEM program are mini-challenges with a focus on exploring, experimenting and problem-solving. S/He should focus on bring science outside, they should be progressive, allowing youth to build on their skills over the course of program tenure and should, in some way, speak the values of Youth resource centre.
Entrepreneurship Element-Strengthening the domains of STEM for programs:
10% of your work-time will be allotted for an opportunity, as an individual, to investigate a new idea, innovate, and create. There are 6 domains of which you can choose to explore one to begin with, that can directly contribute to the project:
1. Effective leadership practices
2. Effective Pedagogical Practices
3.. A Culture that Promotes Learning
4. Productive Community Participation
5. Enabling Resources of the School
For any of the given domains you are encouraged to explore new ideas, partnerships, interventions etc. All your learnings from the efforts in this direction must be consolidated in the form of improvement projects and RLOs (reusable learning objectives) that can be picked by any interventionist or stakeholder in the school to be used in their respective contexts.
This will help identify your area of interest and explore learning opportunities, something that will contribute towards your self-development and career growth in the long run.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledgeable and skillful in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (ideally with a specialist in Science).
Ability to work independently, manage time, flexible and with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills specially to deal with young people.
Highly organized, disciplined and self-motivated; able to set, manage and meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks with strict attention to detail.
Understanding of issues of underprivileged communities and children's rights perspective.
Skilled in Robotics, coding etc will be a plus point.
Education | Experience
BSC/B Tech from reputed university or equivalent or Diploma in education/relevant courses in the academic stream.
0-2years of work experience in STEM-related projects or schools.
