Steel Fixer

Description

We are looking for a skilled Steel Fixer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and installing steel bars and mesh in concrete structures. The Steel Fixer must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings, and have experience using hand and power tools to cut, bend, and tie steel bars and mesh. The candidate must have a good understanding of construction safety practices and be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings to determine the requirements for steel reinforcement
• Cutting, bending, and tying steel bars and mesh using hand and power tools
• Assembling and installing steel bars and mesh in concrete structures, following established safety guidelines
• Maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and reporting any defects or malfunctions
• Collaborating with other members of the construction team to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required specifications

Skills and Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Steel Fixer
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Experience using hand and power tools to cut, bend, and tie steel bars and mesh
• Familiarity with construction safety practices and regulations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Physical stamina and strength, as the job may require lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces
