Job Overview

Designs a complete and complex framework, system, or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years experience in engineering field, preferably (but not required) in domestic appliance and/or component supplier industry system design and related technologies.
  • Adequate knowledge of system architecture of Appliances (such as Washer, Dryer, Cooktops, Ranges, Ovens Refrigerator and Freezer), as well familiarity of small appliances and other home products (lawn mowers, HVAC, BESS, etc) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with market trends such as connected and/ or Smart Home, ambient light, advanced production processes IoT / Cobots) and appliance standardization requirements such as UL 250, CQC, IEC 60335-1 /2-24 /2-34 to meet safety regulations and energy saving regulations in all regions globally is a plus.
  • The geographically dispersed group requires that the candidate be self-motivating with the ability to take the initiative to accomplish tasks with provided direction.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to build relationships with external customers and industry leaders as well as internally across all levels, disciplines, and geographies.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with key OEM and other focus appliance customers (OEM and 1st tiers)
  • Identifying potential technology disrupters (which often requires expertise in and/or understanding of various technologies)
  • Help System Architecture team in integrating customer needs, gather industry knowledge, and business insight to create compelling trends around technology and product trends that will drive the organization forward.
  • Working within a small geographically dispersed system architecture team to share subject matter expertise and best practices.
  • Being exposed to appliance industry, collaborating closely with external customers as well as internal business development, product management and engineering development teams.
  • Supporting high value platform NPI projects that will require you to collaborate and interface with large groups.
  • Support the technical cooperation with customers and coordination of TE's internal development engineering team to assure technical and functional feasibility from the eyes of the customer.
  • Ensuring we are following required industry standards while also helping to drive the strategy for new standards.
