Staff Software Engineer, Cloud IAM Control Plane

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking individuals with an understanding of distributed systems, reliability, security, scalability, and cloud architecture. The role also requires cross-team collaboration with key leaders across Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Build large-scale infrastructure related systems and features in the Authorization space of GCP, starting with early designs to a working, scalable, and reliable system.
• Develop domain expertise in building and operating a hyper-reliable infrastructure that will allow GCP to delight customers with always-correct, intuitive, and fast access control enforcement.
• Deliver technical projects, including planning and execution, in an innovative and fluid environment.
• Partner with key stakeholders and leaders (Program Manager, Engineering leads, Technical Program Managers) to define and execute a direction and long-term strategy.
• Provide technical oversight and leadership on aspects of development, including technical requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, integration, launch, and support.
