Handing over and taking charge of shift.- Keeping the ward clean and tidy.
Preparation of surgical supplies, bandage, splint.
- Routine care and cleaning of dressing trolleys, cupboards, apparatus, mackintosh etc.
Care of clean and soiled linens.- Disinfections of linen, beds, floor and bed pans.
Admission and discharge of patient.
- Assistance and instructions to patient and their relations.
Bathing patients including daily care of mouth, nails and pressure points.- Four hourly, or more frequent attention to pressure points.
Giving and removing of bed pans and urine pots.
- Giving and removing of hot water bottle.
Bed making. Distribution of diets, milk etc.
- Preparation of special feeds, eggs, milk etc.
