Job Summary: The Staff Nurse provides direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care in accordance with established standards, protocols, and patient care plans. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Patient Care:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to individual needs and established protocols.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments.
Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries as required.
- Patient and Family Communication:
Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-care instructions.- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families.
Address patient concerns and respond to inquiries in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including charts and care plans.- Document patient progress, changes in condition, and responses to treatment.
Report significant changes in patient condition to physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.- Coordinate patient care activities with other departments and services as needed.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of diseases and ensure a safe environment.- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in nursing.
Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively, providing appropriate care and support.- Participate in code blue and other emergency response drills and activities.
Additional Duties:- Assist with the orientation and training of new nursing staff or students.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State/Country].Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
