SRE Cloud Engineer – GCP

What does a day in the life look like:

Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident.

Triage, investigate and fix issues, with right process in mind.

Utilize tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing team capabilities

Improve existing code base for best practice, security and current technology/packages

Participate in peer code reviews to achieve quality

Learn about and share new cloud technology that enhances the platform

What will likely be in your toolkit

Excellent problem-solving techniques and abilities

Experience in effectively conveying problems, designs and solutions in a digital format (e.g. diagrams, tech notes, presentations etc.)

Demonstrated experience in Cloud technology, especially Google cloud platform, Terraform etc.

Experience of build, deploy and test through CI/CD pipeline (e.g. Gitlab)

Experience of complex networking architecture

Understanding of containerization technology (e.g. Docker) and container orchestration technology (e.g., Kubernetes)

Experience of protecting digital assets with a strong background in cyber security, including threat detection, risk assessment, and proactive defence strategies

Strong skill in scripting, automation

Strong team player within an Agile/Scrum environment You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
