MIP, the nations leading fund accounting and payroll solution for nonprofits and educational institutions, seeks a skilled Technical Writer to join our growing R&D team. In this role, you will create clear, concise documentation for our industry-leading fundraising software, working closely with the development team to produce a variety of materials, including how-to guides and reference guides.
A Day in the Life
- Design, develop, edit, and update comprehensive product documentation for a wide range of modules and products.
- Produce documentation in multiple formats while maintaining a consistent style.
- Manage updates and revisions to existing documentation.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, customer-friendly deliverables.
- Utilize various resources to ensure accuracy, including interpreting story documents, interviewing subject matter experts, and experimenting with software.
- Collect and interpret technical data and coordinate layout for publication.
- Research, develop, and document technical design specifications and test scripts.
- Contribute to maintaining a library of technical terminology and documentation processes.
- Participate in Agile/cross-functional teams and attend regular development meetings.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and team members across different disciplines.
- Utilize your expertise to assist , troubleshoot, and train colleagues, and propose improvements to processes and products.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, company products, and business goals.

- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Minimum 2 years of experience producing technical documentation, with 3-7 years preferred.
- Experience working in a software development environment and familiarity with the SDLC.
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools for document processing, desktop publishing, and help authoring (Madcap Flare experience preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
