Job Description:

We are now looking for an experienced and qualified candidate with the main mission to work as Sr. System Engineer - Battery Management System

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

• Lead the development of cutting-edge battery management systems.
• Defining Battery Management System (BMS) functional architecture.
• Defining Battery Management system functions and function partitioning
• Responsible for the key BMS hardware & software features.
• BMS functions and software. Control algorithms such as battery controls, battery SOC, SOH estimations, cell balancing, battery life optimization, safety related controls, configuration of BMS, cell characterization, energy calculation, thermal management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architectures that seamlessly integrate battery technology into Epiroc s electrified platforms.
• Defining system level fault management
• Work with system team to identify the BMS electrical interfaces, calibration and testing team to generate battery system DVP
• ISO 26262 compliance for BMS, DFMEA
• BMS Controls Software Verification and Validation
• Functional Testing, System/Component Benchmarking
• Develop and lead key internal relationships on critical component areas within the Battery Electronics Module, HV battery pack, the control system software team, and the vehicle HV/LV system.
• Battery Modelling using MATLAB Simulink
• Work with product verification and validation teams to ensure evaluation criteria are established/validated as per design.
• Drive new platform developments for battery systems, ensuring alignment with Epiroc s electrification goals.
• Collaborates with other experts to achieve high-quality outputs within the framework of the organizations rules, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead project teams in the development, testing, and deployment of control systems.
• Deals with work processes, optimization methodologies, and risk management tools in assigned projects to ensure effective completion following stakeholder needs.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Reporting to the Business Line Manager in a timely and efficient manner
• Complying to company policies and follow company values and business code of practice.

Experience Requirements:

12-15 yrs. of experience - Mining / Earth moving equipment /off road vehicles /Automobiles /Industrial automation.

Minimum 6+ years of Industry experience in developing battery management system hardware/software design, configuration and testing.

Experience in Algorithm (SOC, SOH), software development and implementation.

Experience in Battery diagnostics.

Modelling of battery performance, life, and/or safety

Strong exposure to EV system and BMS architecture

This position is located in Bengaluru/Chennai, India.
