Roles & Responsibilities
- QA Engineer will be responsible for developing functional test strategies, detailed test plans and automation of L0 and L1-based Optical Muxponder/Switchponder applications being a part of the Agile Teams.
- QA Engineer will be involved in testing different protocols like Otn Dwdm, RSTP, etc, and interfaces like Netconf, Restconf, gRPC, etc.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed functional test plans to verify various product features and capabilities ensuring that the complex customer configurations are covered extensively, and the system functionalities work seamlessly when deployed.
- Active participation and Contribution to System Development Lifecycle processes (Product/system requirement review discussions, Software Design implementation discussions, Work with the Product management team for Customer scenarios and use cases, to convert them to the detailed Test plan.
- Setting up complex test topologies based on the feature requirements and optimizing the gear for the best representation of the customer deployment configurations.
- Write Automated tests and enable on-demand execution of the automated tests as per the project requirement.
- Cross-functional coordination for the features owned to ensure great quality product delivery by the team.
- Good troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Required Expertise/Skills
- 6+ years experience in Manual and Automation.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in ECE, CS, or EEE Engineering with good academics.
- Requires expertise in testing Embedded optical network systems, In-depth knowledge of L1 layer protocols like Otn, Fiber Channel, Ethernet, SONET/Sdh, DWDM, interfaces like Netconf, Restconf, gRPC, etc.
- Strong skills in Test plan design and issue tracking.
- Working experience in system control plane protocols like OSPF, RSTP, MPLS, LDP, and other L2/L3 protocols is a strong plus.
- Expertise in Python programming (or any equivalent programming language) for automation development.
- Working with test traffic generators like Viavi, Spirent, Ixia, etc.
- Work experience in testing Microservices, Container container-based applications is strongly desired.
- Experience in standard Process tools and configuration management (like JIRA, GIT, etc.)
- Flexible, innovative, self-driven.
- Structured and thorough with analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Highly motivated team player committed to System Quality.
This position requires direct or indirect access to certain confidential information, hardware, software, technology, or technical information (referred to here as Export-Controlled Information) controlled under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The U.S. Department of Commerce currently requires a foreign person with a most recent citizenship or permanent residency of Sudan, Ukraine, or a country currently designated in Country Group D:1, E:1 or E:2 (Supplement No. 1 to Part 740, Title 15)
to have an export control license to access our Export-Controlled Information, unless they meet certain exemptions provided under U.S. export control laws and regulations. The list of applicable countries in Country Group D:1, E:1 or E:2may be updated by the U.S. government from time to time. The current processing time for an export control license is approximately 4 to 6 months.
