Job Description Supplier Quality Development Engineer
SETS (Smart Energy & Thermal Solutions)
Main Purpose of Job:
1.To lead improvement of supplier quality, productivity and safety for assigned suppliers to reduce Supplier PPM and improve deliveries to SETS sites.
2.To approve and develop new and existing suppliers thru Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment to required levels of performance expected by Honeywell and lead qualification of parts manufactured by suppliers.
3.Support the tooling health initiatives thru evaluation of tool condition on-site at suppliers.
4.Develop & maintain relationships to improve partnerships between Honeywell & suppliers.
Responsibilities (detailed tasks, description of the main responsibilities)
1.Responsible for coordinating with Procurement, Site Quality and Category Manager organizations for enabling growth & quality improvements at preferred suppliers.
2.Responsible for supplier qualification thru Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment.
3.Part approval thru Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
4.Monitor and report on supplier productivity performance and initiatives to improve.
5. Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, & Engineering, & Procurement organizations to drive quality improvements.
6.Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier major quality issues (8D Reports).
7.Drive use data analytics to identify the most important issues to focus effort on.
8.Responsible for other duties and tasks as directed.
9.Lead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams.
10.Evaluation of tools (plastic, casting, EMS, tester etc.) at the supplier.
Experience: 5+ years
Travel 30 50% in Indian region
