Middleware and Infra Engineering role
About The Role
Major accountabilities:
- Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud
- Apache base-image tar balls and Maven package creation
- Automation playbooks creations in Ansible and Yaml for middleware stacks (WebLogic , JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, IIS)
- Build middleware platform along with IT security experts
- Prepare middleware platform interfaces like SFTP, Proxy, NTP servers
- Prepare security baselines for Apache, IIS, Java, F5, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat
- Revision and testing of middleware security baselines and hardening
- Build custom middleware packages based on business requirements
- Evaluate middleware patches and prepare custom installers for middleware platform
- Assessment of security requirements for middleware stacks as per IMF controls.
- Creation of installation documents and work instructions for all middleware stacks (WebLogic, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, IIS)
- CI/CD Pipeline creation and deployment for containerized framework
- Engineering of installation IQs and work instructions, (i.e. OpenShift, Kubernetes cluster, JBoss, NGINX, .NET Framework, Apache, Apache Tomcat, IIS, Java, OHS, WebLogic, F5, and AVI Installers)
- Technical Specification as architecture changes per design
- Generate reports on current capacity and produce demand forecast
- Point of escalation for External Suppliers and Operations Support team
- Review and make proposals for architectural changes
- Provides detailed input regarding middleware platform designs and solutions per component
- Application Onboarding:
- - Review requirements / Connectivity / classification
- Adherence to Sec Req (cf. IT Security Template)
- Create diagrams -
- Request servers -
- Assign Server to the appropriate subnets which would require Networking knowledge
- Support and guide for dedicated environments team to onboard App to DR
- Firewall Security Policies Review, Cleaning
- Participate in enhancement activities (example, security enhancement, ....) -
- Act as SPOC with SPE Team for new requirements
- Act as SPOC with ITSec for any findings / questions related to DMZ
- Monitor # of used IP address / request new VLAN when necessary (Request VLAN/ Switch configuration / ...)
- Act as SPOC for troubleshooting activities to help people to get end to end understanding about the traffic flow
