Job Summary
This Data Solutions team is Data Centre of Excellence for Standard Chartered Finance & Treasury Function and has expertise in data architecture, infrastructure, and governance. The team partners closely with Business, Finance, Risk, Technology, Fin Ops & Treasury Management Teams, CDO to define and implement Data Sourcing and overall data strategy for Finance and Treasury.
The role is a data specialist role who will be working in one or more strategic initiatives or data remediation project for Finance, Capital & Liquidity Risk Management. Role in Strategic initiative will be to define and implement the data sourcing requirements and associated controls. Role in data remediation projects will be to improve data quality by doing data quality & impact assessments, root cause analysis and remedial action management including system and business process changes

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in S166 audit (through activities listed below) and support in preparing management responses to auditors queries
- Understand & review the data requirements of downstream processes to minimize data adjustments and optimize use of resources
- Identify, analyse, and validate relevant optimal data sources for critical data elements ensuring availability of high-quality data
- Identify new CDEs (critical data elements) and drive discussions pertaining to ownership and business process for new data elements
- Apply the data management best practices and data governance principles to source data in a right manner with appropriately defined controls and governance including data handshakes
- Work with upstream data owners, systems, and technology partners to define the delivery mechanism to meet data requirements (in terms of completeness, reliability, suitability, and accuracy) both tactically (mid-term) and strategically (long-term)
- Work with business stakeholders and delivery partners to identify data gaps / data quality issues leading to manual interventions, quantify business impact, and perform root cause analysis.
- Influence senior stakeholders to support change management activities required for successful implementation of data solutions and data remediation programs
- Escalate formally problematic DQ issues with the upstream to ensure adequate management oversight and remediation.
- For upstream driven changes, understand the changing data landscape with the upstream and understand transition paths

Skills And Experience
Ideal candidate would have expertise in one or more data capabilities (Data Governance, Data Analytics, Data Architecture & Modelling, Business Analysis) and functional knowledge of Finance & Treasury processes (Capital management, financial accounting, Liquidity management, group reporting), banking products (Financial markets, Trade Finance etc). Other requirements are as follows:
- 6+ years of work experience pertaining to finance/risk/business projects in financial services
- Domain knowledge in banking products or any of finance processes Capital/Liquidity management, Ledger management
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and ability to define these standards with respect to Critical data elements
- Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills
- Strategic mindset with strong problem solving and superior ability to manage, manipulate and analyse raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
- Strong influencing skills to ensure that delivery teams outside of direct management deliver as planned
Ability to manage a diverse and challenging stakeholder community
- Advanced SQL skills or Python or any other Data analytics skills is desirable
- Prior experience in managing regulatory audit will be advantageous
