Provide guidance and support in implementing and embedding controls in BAU activities
- Be part of a Finance 1b-LoD team, providing central support and expert guidance to first line of defence
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of control processes and identifying areas for improvement
- Lead and deliver in embedding the MG plc Risk Management Framework within Finance as per 2lod timelines like KCAs, RCSAs, MUDAs etc. for assigned COEs
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise on achieving and improving the control environment for Finance, and proactively share that knowledge and experience across the broader organisation (e.g. producing standard templates and delivering best practice training). Provide advice, guidance and insights to Finance Leadership in all matters relating to Risk and Controls.
- Liaise with the business s key relationship managers/control champions to ensure the appropriate training and guidance on operational risk handbook adherence within finance and outsourced areas.
- Any new processes have effectively designed and documented, incorporating associated changes to operating risk and controls
Lead with reviews and assessments of Financial Processes and Controls
- Build relationship with second line Risk, third line Risk (Internal Audit), control champions, other 1 B team within the organisation.
- Understand reviews/assessments and provide appropriate challenge to 2lod/3lod
- Disseminate the reviews/assessments by 2lod/3lod within finance and also monitor implementation
- Support key change initiatives within finance, supporting the 1st Line to ensure any change to risk profile is understood, within business appetite and impact on control environment
Monitor and analyse data through robust governance
- Manage collation, aggregation and dissemination of risk reporting and analysis to Senior Management including other Finance Centres of Excellence, peer 1LOD teams across the business, and 2nd and 3rd line risk teams.
Manage the development and ongoing support to effective risk governance arrangements, including coordination of relevant MI and reporting.
