Sr. Machine Learning Scientist
We are looking for a ML Scientist III to join Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS), the business-to-business (B2B) arm of Expedia Group (EG). We provide industry leading technology solutions powering thousands of partners across the globe with EG products. We are powered by the worlds travel platform enabling EPS to address almost every segment in the travel market from large online travel providers to your local high-street travel agent.
This role sits centrally within the EPS organization offering a diverse perspective and a vast array of challenges. We build end-to-end solutions for ranking problems, recommendation engines as well as optimizing our pricing and commission offerings contributing substantial value to EPS and our partners. We embrace test and learn by continuously experimenting,analyzingand improving our algorithms which has helped EPS become the fastest growing business within Expedia Group.
What You'll Do
This is a technical role that requires an individual that can encourage, provide technical leadership and has a proven track record deploying models to production. You will be an outstanding Data Scientist with a wealth of experience and an abundance of ideas. We need you to be able to pick up new concepts quickly, understand the broader context in which a solution is deployed and deliver exceptional work at pace. Finally, this is an individual contributor role, but we will want you to mentor other team members, providing technical guidance and advice that will lead to better business outcomes and personal growth within the team.
- Effectively lead and contribute to projects by seeding ideas, demonstrating technical prowess and encouraging others
- Provide technical mentorship to other Data Scientists
- Proactively look at ways to improve the team and our system capabilities
- Collaborate with technology and business leaders as appropriate to sustain momentum of delivery
- Articulate solutions, methodologies and frameworks concisely to both technical and non-technical partners
Who You Are
- Proven excellence in leading and contributing to Data Science projects in a commercial setting
- Learned experience across a wide range of technologies and algorithms
- Vocal with opinions and energized by new ideas
- Keen to educate others.
- Fluent in Python andPySpark, experience withKerasandsklearn, knowledge of Scala a plus.
- Experience with a breadth of data technologies and hands-on experience deploying solutions to production.
- You are adaptable, flexible and quick to learn new concepts
- You have excellent written and verbal communication
