POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Team Senior Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of MG2 data gathering, data
analysis, and strategic decision-making. They must possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in
technical tools, and excellent communication abilities. This role requires effective leadership,
adaptability to changing environments, and a commitment to ethical conduct and data privacy. The ideal
candidate will have deep domain knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and
the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create SQL Stored procs and Functions to perform complex transformations
Understand data requirements and design optimal pipelines to fulfil the use-cases
Tuning and optimizing data processes
Code Deployments to production environment, troubleshoot production data issues
Team span, responsible for handling a team of 5 to 10.
Develops and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with other departments within
the organization to enhance the integration of division products and services.
Manages the teams resources efficiently to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
Ensures the team consistently meets deadlines and delivers on its commitments.
Demonstrates awareness of risks associated with the teams work and proactively takes steps to
mitigate those risks.
Leads and mentors other team members, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for skill
and knowledge development.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven ability to analyse information and anticipate outcomes to choose the best solutions.
Deep understanding of the teams work and the technologies (SSIS, SSAS, C#, TSQL) used to do
it. This includes knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and data quality assurance
Understanding of software development lifecycles including waterfall, agile, etc.
ability to motivate and inspire team members, as well as provide them with the guidance and
support they need to be successful.
Bachelor s and/or masters degree
5+ years of relevant experience leading a team of SQL developers
Minimum 8+ years of experience working in MS SQL Server mainly in ETL side (SSIS, SSAS).
Knowledge of C# would be added advantage
Hands-on experience on the following technologies:
o Writing complex T-SQL queries
o Building ETL/ELT/data pipelines using SSIS
o Query analysis and optimization
Excellent knowledge of T-SQL
Exposure to DevOps methodology
