Roles & Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer in the Costing & Analysis team, the individual will play an important role in
analyzing costs, evaluating pricing strategies, and plan & monitor the costing of the project providing
valuable insights to support the Sales & Business Development function. The responsibilities will
encompass cost estimation, financial analysis, and strategic planning to ensure the company's
competitiveness and profitability in the aerospace casting and material manufacturing market.
(Team 3 primarily works on Technical Support for their team which focuses only on Aerospace and
Defense customer segment.)
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project requirements and specifications to estimate costs accurately, evaluate and propose
cost-effective solutions to enhance project competitiveness.
Conduct financial analysis on proposed projects, assessing potential risks and returns, develop
financial models to evaluate project feasibility and profitability, and provide insights and
recommendations based on financial data leading to Budgeting Quote/final Quote.
Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing strategies, and competitor analysis, stay updated
on industry benchmarks and pricing norms and provide insights on market dynamics to support
strategic decision-making.
Engage with clients to understand their cost expectations and constraints, present cost estimates
and financial analyses to clients in a clear and compelling manner, and address client queries and
concerns related to costing and financial aspects.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering, collaborate with internal teams to
implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality, and regularly review and update
cost models based on changing market conditions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of cost estimates, financial models, and bid-related
information, generate regular reports on cost analysis, bid success rates, and other relevant metrics,
and present findings and reports to internal stakeholders and senior management.2
Desired Candidate Profile
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with Specialization in Finance or Marketing.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
2-4 years of proven experience in cost estimation, financial analysis, or related fields, preferably
within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in financial modeling, cost accounting principles, and statistical analysis techniques.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional
teams.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to develop complex spreadsheets and
financial models.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and supply chain management
concepts.
Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:
Experience with cost estimation software or ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite) is desirable.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions to cost-related
challenges.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus on pricing
decisions.
