What's the role
We are looking for a passionate Database Engineer to join our team of spatial data experts with team members located in India, Poland, Mexico. This person will be responsible for spatial data analytics, building automation tools, as well as creating processes for data monitoring and anomaly detection. Sr Database Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
Responsibilities For Sr Database Engineer
- Create and maintain automated data flows
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements in automating manual processes
- Query, analyze and transform large spatial datasets
- Build analytic tools that utilize the data flows to provide insight into data driven decision making
- Work with stakeholders including Software Engineering, Product Management, to assist with data-related issues
- Create data validation, analytics, visualization and monitoring tools for data scientist team that assist them in building and optimizing our data flows
- Use algorithms to learn Machine Learning models behavior for abnormal changes detection
- Discovers trends in the data and presents them to data scientists and business managers
Who are you
Key Skills Required For This Role
- 5+ years working experience with Big Data
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, GIS
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
- Understanding of HERE database structure and specification is a plus.
- Knowledge of data mining and analytic methods
- Strong knowledge of data transformation using FME
- Successful record of building advanced dashboards using Tableau
- Proficiency with a statistical analysis package and associated scripting language such as Python, R, Matlab, SAS, etc.
- Good knowledge of and some experience with tools such as Pig, Hive, etc., for working with big data in Hadoop for data extraction and prep for analysis.
- Experience with web service such as; AWS, Redshift, S3, Spark
- Ability to connect data using Web API or REST API
