Sr Consultant Data Engineer (Bigdata + Java/Scala)

The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform (DAP) group is a key component of Visa's Technology organization that provides the enabling technology and processes to handle Visa's data assets and deliver valuable information, products, and services to customers. Areas of focus include Business Intelligence and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data as a Service, and Platform as a Service etc. The portfolio comprises of over 60 data products & platforms for various external clients and internal lines of business. We provide services on behalf of traditional bank customers to millions of cardholders and merchants globally. We are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing next generation data platforms to drive incremental revenue.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on Programming
• Implementing substantial applications in Web and Web Services utilizing big data technologies.
• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
• Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions timely and on-budget.
• Develop Security & integration components for data security and privacy
• Integrate with Visa s enterprise application for authentication and access
• Provide third-level support to business users.
• Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
• Participate in review of solution designs, code review etc.
• Closely work with different collaborators like Project managers, product owners and multi-functional teams.
• Work with architects, systems analysts, project managers and other developers to efficiently implement business requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
