Overview:
As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of PowerSchool's global SaaS applications. Your work will involve managing cloud environments, software deployments and configuration, application operations to maximize system performance, availability, and security of all cloud-based systems. Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with developers, architects and other cloud operations team members to build, manage and operate infrastructure and applications
Installation and configuration of highly available cloud-based software and customer environments
Complete periodic application software and infrastructure updates along with capacity planning
Identify and drive improvement opportunities in process and platform
Perform daily system administration tasks to ensure that all systems are up and running
Perform root cause analysis for production issues where the root cause is in infrastructure, environment, configuration, or deployment routines; understand when to escalate to product development teams; remediate root causes and implement preventative actions
Operate and maintain orchestration routines in production
Support product development teams in the delivery of continuous integration, continuous deployment, providing templates and patterns to follow to ensure code produced by product development teams can be deployed and scaled on standardized technologies and platforms
Performs basic database monitoring and troubleshooting of database performance issues
Participate in after-hours maintenance, when necessary, respond to emergencies, participate in customer calls when called upon in support of initiatives and incident response
Participate in 24/7 on-call support including shift rotations where required
Mentor junior team members across Cloud Operations
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Systems or equivalent degree required
5-7 years supporting cloud-based applications and services
5+ years practical experience of AWS and/or Azure equivalent technologies such as EC2, NSGs, VPC/VNETs, Load Balancers, DNS, CDN and certificate management
3+ years doing server administration and cloud deployment of both Windows and Linux; including OS patching and vulnerability scanning.
3+ years writing Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Ansible or comparable
1+ years experience with containerization and container orchestration techniques (Kubernetes, Rancher, Mesos)
Proficient with CI/CD techniques and tools such as Jenkins, Travis, and Bamboo
Experience with Python, PowerShell, Ruby, or other programming languages
Proficient with cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM), Azure AD (AAD)
Proficient with Relational and No-SQL databases (demonstrable proficiency or professional experience preferred)
Demonstrable knowledge of monitoring tools and APMs such as Datadog, NewRelic or similar
Capability to handle a heavy workload, competing priorities and frequent interruptions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with effective written and verbal communication
Environmental and Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an office and/or remote setting
Comfortable using computers and peripherals for extended periods
Adaptability to changing work environments and schedules
