Job Overview:Metis Engineering Services Pvt Ltd is seeking a PLC Programmer / Sr. Automation Engineer with expertise in automation systems development, specifically within the tyre and plastics industries. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming PLCs and commissioning systems, along with the flexibility to travel 70% of the time both domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and program PLC systems tailored to the tyre and plastics industry.
- Develop, test, and implement control system software for manufacturing processes in the tyre and plastics sectors.
- Integrate PLCs with other automation systems (HMIs, SCADA, DCS).
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of control systems on-site.
- Collaborate with clients to understand specific project needs in the tyre and plastics industries and customize solutions.
- Work with cross-functional teams for system integration, documentation, and client support.
- Ensure timely project delivery while adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Provide training and support to end-users and operators on automated systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field, preferably from a reputed institution.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, etc.), with a strong preference for candidates from the tyre industry.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
- Strong understanding of control systems, electrical schematics, and automation workflows in tyre and plastics manufacturing.
- Experience with SCADA, HMI, and industrial automation software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (domestic and international).
Preferred Skills:- Experience with automation in the tyre and plastics industries is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Ladder Logic.
- Familiarity with safety systems and regulatory standards in the tyre manufacturing sector.
