Job Description -
- Database Administrative support of SQL Server versions 2012,2014,2016,2017,2019 and 2022: Monitoring, maintenance and housekeeping of SQL Server and Databases, SQL Jobs, User Access management and regular client requests. Writing and tuning SQL codes and highly customized jobs.
- Infrastructure support of SQL Server versions 2012,2014,2016,2017,2019 and 2022: server/instance installs (stand-alone and clustered), service-pack upgrades, hot fixes, client tool installs, readiness programs, new feature exploitation, research, and development.
- Support of application and upgrade database (Database Migration/ upgrade) from existing SQL versions to latest SQL Server versions.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation and procedures for all supported applications and environments.
- Evaluation of functionality and features with newer versions of the SQL Server DBMS/ database related tools.
- Pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
- Monitoring and support of nightly production batch cycles (SQL Jobs and SSIS Packages).
- Regular review of database maintenance/ support tasks and performance improvement procedures
- Work Planning/Escalation: Organizing and monitoring personal workload and escalating to manager when issues arise.
- Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AZURE
- Planning and implementing all types of backups and restore operations.
- Space management and transactional log files
- Setting up security policies and creating logins and roles
- Administrating high availability solution like Log shipping, mirroring, replication ,clustering and always on
