Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SQL Server DBA with 3-5 years of experience to join our Data Security team. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with both our Data Security and SQL Server DBA teams to address compliance requirements, specifically PCI and SOX, and manage vulnerabilities by identifying and resolving known server and database issues. This role requires a strong understanding of SQL Server administration, IT security principles, and regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
• Manage, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure their performance, availability, and security.
• Implement and oversee database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Compliance Management:
• Work with the Data Security team to ensure databases comply with PCI DSS and SOX regulations.
• Participate in internal and external audits related to database security and compliance.
• Document and maintain compliance procedures and policies.
• Vulnerability Management:
• Identify, assess, and prioritize database and server vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with the IT Security team to develop and implement remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and report on the status of vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Security Practices:
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including encryption, access controls, and security monitoring.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and best practices to protect database systems.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with other DBAs, IT Security professionals, and application developers to ensure seamless integration of security practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members on database security issues.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Experience with database security and compliance (PCI, SOX).
• Proven experience in vulnerability management and remediation.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including installation, configuration, and administration.
• Familiarity with database security best practices and tools.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (PCI DSS, SOX).
• Proficiency in identifying and mitigating database vulnerabilities.
• Experience with database backup and recovery solutions.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with database auditing tools and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks and standards.
