Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic Sporting Partnerships individual to manage and onboard professional teams and sports affiliates. The role involves ensuring contract requirements are met, onboarding teams through barter or VIK (Value In Kind) agreements, and securing sports sponsorships. Hands-on experience managing professional teams and athletes is essential, along with a proven track record of working directly with sports teams or through agencies. This role requires expertise in fostering impactful relationships within the sports ecosystem.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Contractual Deliverables: Ensure that all agreed deliverables for each sports team and affiliate partnership are met in accordance with contractual obligations, maintaining accountability and high service standards.
- Onboarding of Teams and Affiliates: Lead the onboarding process for professional teams and sporting affiliates, managing barter or VIK (Value In Kind) arrangements effectively across multiple sports segments.
- Relationship Management: Develop and sustain strong relationships with sports teams, athletes, and affiliates to foster mutual growth, enhance long-term partnerships and ensure contract renewal.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse the performance of each partnership to measure impact, optimize engagement, and report on KPIs to inform strategic decisions.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or challenges within partnerships promptly, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure satisfaction and continuity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., marketing, legal, product, operations, research) to align partnership goals, ensuring cohesive execution and communication.
- Market Insight & Industry Trends: Stay informed about developments in sports marketing and sponsorships, using insights to drive innovative partnership strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- 35 years of experience in partnerships, sponsorships, or business development, preferably in the sports industry.
- Experience managing relationships with sports teams, leagues, agencies, or athletes.
- Proven track record of securing sponsorships and executing partnership agreements.
- In-depth understanding of the sports industry, including sponsorship models, team dynamics, and sports marketing trends.
