Role Designation: Smart Plant Electrical & Instrumentation Designer

About the Team:
- Our team within the Industrial Business specializes in taking on the most significant engineering projects in the Industrial, Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical, Food, pharma sector, ensuring safe, reliable, low carbon nuclear power generation, and preparations for safe and efficient defueling. We also support other parts of the AtkinsRealis Nuclear & Power business covering the full life cycle from new build through to deconstruction.

- AtkinsRealis Global Technology Centre (GTC) is looking to appoint a Smart Plant Designer (Electrical & Instrumentation) to join our team. This role will be based at our AtkinsRealis office in Mumbai, India.
Responsibilities:
- Directly performs work of designers and drafters, this work includes the preparation of 3D model in Smart Plant, E3D, REVIT applications also preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed construction drawings using 2D CAD software like AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Proficient in developing control system architecture, Loop drawing, Wiring Diagram, Hook Up Drawing, Instrument, JB, PDB Location Drawing, Cable Tray / Conduit Layout, Instrument Air Distribution Drawing, Control Schematic Diagram of various Electrical feeders and Electromechanical Pkgs., Scheme drawing and Equipment Location Layout Drawings of various Telecommunication systems like CCTV, PA, Telephone, Access Control, Local Area Networking etc. Fabre Optic Cable Layout, Control Room Building layout, Analyser Room Layout, Operator Room layout, Single Line Drawing for UPS and Non-UPS power for Instrumentation, Automation and Communication systems.
- Developing or Interface of P&IDs indicating Instruments, Valves, Loops, Alarms, Interlocks.
- Familiar with engineering drawing / documents like Instrument List, IO List, Instrumentation, Automation and Communication system Design Basis, Plant Layouts, Instrument Datasheets etc.
- Preparation or review of material quantity estimates.
- Reviews drawings, and vendor equipment documentation, both within the discipline as well as from other fields, for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution.
- Proficient in Autodesk Navisworks review capabilities, as required.
- Should be able to work independently and handle an area with team of designers/engineers.
- Interdisciplinary check of all Civil / Structural / Piping / Mechanical / Electrical / Process drawings.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to lower classification designers.
- Develop Bills of Materials for tender stage estimation.
Required skills and experience:
- Engineering Diploma with experience between 8 to 10 Years mainly for Industrial, Mining & Metallurgy, Chemical and Petrochemicals multidisciplinary of medium and large size projects in EPC or Engineering Service-related companies. Experience in overseas projects will be an advantage.
- Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Instrumentation and Automaton design in the industry.
- Shall be Capable of Producing P3D Model Independently in coordination with other disciplines.
- Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.
- Able to present / represent their technical work.
- Working knowledge of standard codes and EDMS (Electronic Data Management System).
- Familiar with planning, budgeting, and scheduling of basic drafting tasks in designated disciplines.
- Shows flexibility in work tasks and locations.
- An effective and reliable team member able to apply knowledge gained.
- Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.
- Ensuring that drawings issued are in accordance with the agreed standards as required by the UK / ME region.
- Interface experience with project management team and senior engineers.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Must be an advanced user of Smart Plant & Its equivalent tools for Plant Design with capabilities to federate individual discipline models, maintain and run clash related activities for discipline models.
- Must be able to use Navisworks to generate clash results, manage clash resolution, redline BIM Models, capture viewpoints and cascade reports to discipline teams.
- Preparation of reports such as feasibility studies, method statements, specifications, design reports, schedules, construction drawings and bills of quantities.
