Job Description

  • Assessment & Diagnosis
    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
    • Utilize standardized tests, patient history, and observations to create accurate treatment plans.
    • Document findings and discuss diagnoses with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Treatment Planning & Implementation
    • Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific communication and swallowing needs.
    • Use a variety of techniques, exercises, and tools to enhance communication abilities.
    • Incorporate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, as needed.
  • Therapeutic Intervention
    • Provide direct therapy sessions aimed at improving speech, language, and voice function.
    • Adapt treatment methods based on patient progress and feedback.
    • Track and document patient progress regularly, adjusting goals and techniques as needed.
  • Collaboration & Consultation
    • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, educators, and family members to develop effective support networks.
    • Serve as a resource for patient caregivers, offering guidance on how to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
    • Educate patients and their families on coping strategies and communication techniques.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each patient, following legal and ethical documentation guidelines.
    • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education activities.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing speech-language pathology.
