SOURCING SPECIALIST Electronics or Mechanical & Plastics
Within the scope assigned by the Sourcing Manager, the Sourcing Specialist ensures the development and management of the appropriate supplier base to guarantee that the business expectations are met in terms of Total Costs of Ownership and Supply Service.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Sourcing Expert for multiple commodities for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), such as fabricated & press tool parts and plastic parts required for manufacturing products in the KDC/One group.
- Scout and select suppliers of materials, develop the supplier base in India by localizing imported materials, and support Group functions in scouting new suppliers and products in the market of competence. Metrics: Number of suppliers scouted by spend category, Success rate of supplier scouting. Conduct competitive negotiations to drive cost reductions with the supply base. Negotiate contractual terms with detailed cost breakdowns, focusing on cost-driving parameters like raw materials, foreign exchange, labor, etc., and manage supplier relationships to meet current and future business expectations. Ensure plant needs are fully met in terms of price, service level, and quality (lowest TCO). Metrics: Purchase Price Variances (PPV) TCO. Monitor and analyze commodity markets.
- Assist the Sourcing Manager in executing the plant's yearly savings plan and complete assigned Cost Improvement Initiatives (CII). Metrics: Yearly Saving Achievement. Maintain short and long-term plans for categories of materials and keep info-records updated in SAP (ERP).
- Maintain a supplier platform with selection, evaluation and re-evaluation parameters, ensuring the supplier scorecard is up to date.
- Generate reports and information to help the Sourcing Manager & Procurement Manager track department metrics.
Requirements:
- Fluent English is a prerequisite University Degree, preferably B.E/B. Tech in Mechanical, Production or Mechatronics Engineering
- 5+ years of experience as a specialist (commodity, sourcing) within the Sourcing/Procurement department in an industrial manufacturing and/or processing environment. Hands-on experience in plastic & mechanical commodities and product & raw material costing
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Experience in sourcing (or purchasing) within an FMCG environment for multiple commodities such as fabricated & press tool parts and plastic parts
- Knowledge of operations, transportation, INCO terms, and customs
- Skills in negotiation/influencing, advanced functions in MS Excel, and proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and datasheets (specifications)
- Proficient in modern IT ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong analytical skills (including data collection, analysis, and review)
- Commitment to continuous improvement of relevant processes
- Effective cross-functional communication
- Proactive support in issue resolution (internal and external)
- Willing to travel extensively.
