Sourcing Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Define & Develop sourcing strategy for casting, forged and fabricated Parts Including

Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, rubber, composites & Machined Components etc. in line

with Amber/Sidwal/Yujin Policies and drive its implementation.

2. Define supplier target panel in-line with Sourcing strategy and make sure it is implemented.

3. Handling a diversified portfolio of Sourcing Including rolling stock components for Metro,

Urban, Regional & High-Speed, Customized trains etc.

4. Finalizing & Managing long term contracts, Supplier relationships, Frame agreements,

Transfer of Technology (TOT) including complex parts like couplers, drive gears,

pantographs, brake systems, air tanks, deformation tubes, electrical heads and related

components.

5. Accountable for the productivity of sourcing team in accordance with company targets.

6. Periodic update & Review of Sourcing strategies with Management committee.

7. Support in Bidding of Tenders through cost reduction initiatives like Volume Bundling

Synergy, VA/VE ideas through workshops with key Suppliers, Standardization, Re-Use of

Parts etc.

8. Facilitating material cost improvement by identifying opportunities related to localization,

supplier negotiation, and VA/VE ideas after collaboration & discussion with stakeholders

like engineering, product teams, supporting in development of parts, & capacity analysis at

supplier to meet global requirement

9. New & Alternate Source development as part of Capacity ramp up, Risk management &

Cost Competition.

10. Support Commodity & Site Buyers in Key Supplier negotiations & Business awards.

11. Establishing methodology and execution plan for auto-source selection (Preferred Vendor

alignment) in support of vendors (especially contract vendors) meeting specific defined

performance standards.

12. Facilitating new product development initiative with key focus on quality, cost & delivery

and developing components in conformance to pre-set technical specifications

13. Leading review of performance for vendor base for region and defined local vendors.

Provide support for coaching, development or termination of relationship as required.

14. Ensuring the proper review and maintenance of the system vendor record including the

inclusion of all required documentation including insurance, commercial and

indemnification contracts

Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with Minimum 10+ years of

experience in sourcing of rolling stock components/products
