The Solution Architect for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) will be responsible for the solution governance and architecture for the digital tools used by the Supply Chain and Operations functions for the business. In close collaboration between other IT stakeholders, business process owners, and other manufacturing leaders, this role will set the overall technical roadmap, solution integrations, and data flow to and from the MES solution, which includes GE Proficy and other applications related to manufacturing operations management.
Key Characteristics:
Develop and maintain solution architecture by leading solution definition, solution architecture reviews, solution selection efforts and adherence to architectural processes and team plan and strategy.
Provide governance, strategic consultation and recommendation for business process design, business intelligence design, software development, application frameworks or interfaces during the design and ongoing care of solutions.
Partner with business leadership to understand how data will be leveraged as a competitive advantage and promote architectural methods and solutions to enable business value.
Review new projects and architecture solutions, ensuring they are aligned with enterprise architecture and meet financial targets.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends and utilize knowledge to educate both information technology and the business on opportunities to build better target architectures that support and drive business decisions.
Develop a reference architecture that includes data domain specifications.
Document how data flows from its origination and acquisition points.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with client partners, acting as a consultant, to understand their capabilities, desired maturities, and process requirements and translate them into system designs and functional solutions for manufacturing operations management
Prepare detailed architectural frameworks and specification documents to assist the technical team in the development of GE Proficy and Plant Systems.
Assess and design scalable best in breed/emerging technologies. Make non-MES solution recommendations where applicable contributing to the broader platform application lifecycle management.
Collaborate with external third-party vendor partners to meet understanding product roadmaps
Support operations technology (OT) projects that are not directly related to MES
Apply and adhere to IT standards including; security, data privacy, quality, project management and process
Deliver quality solutions within scope and timeline

Hard Skills:
5+ years demonstrable application and infrastructure knowledge of cloud based MES solutions (MES)
Hands-on experience in participating 2-3 complete implementations in an Architect role
Advanced understanding of all manufacturing operations management
Proven ability to drive operational analytics and reportings from data historians with appropriate level of details for stakeholders
Verifiable knowledge of integration methodologies into operations technology (OT) environments such as OPC-UA and information technology environments such as API.
Possess creative thinking and problem-solving skills to produce impactful and innovative designs
Ability to understand and translate complex concepts with clarity and simplicity.
Experience contributing and leading multi-functional project delivery
Experience with multinational enterprise environments, working with multicultural global teams, delivering MES solutions through project implementations.
Demonstrate ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
Basic knowledge of project management
