Software QA Team Lead (Manual & Automation), India

Purpose of the Position

Act as a subject matter expert in quality assurance principles, leading the continuous improvement of our software quality, practices, policies, and procedures. Creates, executes, monitors, and

troubleshoots problems for test plans to ensure quality control standards are achieved, while

promoting and coaching a more standard and automated testing approach within the team. Oversees projects to make sure work is scheduled based on priorities, risks and team strengths and assignment of resources across projects.

Principal Responsibilities

• Execution & Report

Act as quality gatekeeper, oversee all aspects of testing activities, including functional

automation, regression, stress, performance and integration testing, to secure the

quality of software can meet client's business needs as well as consistent with

technology quality standard, and also secure each of the scheduled deliveries are on

commitment.

Collect, analyze, and summarize product quality concerns, issues and trends, and

improve the test coverage / test cases to continuously ensure the system quality.

• Define Testing Approach & Plans

According to business requirements, advice team to identify area/workflow/procedure

impacted by new requirements, define and implement test plan, system quality

analytics and other QA assessments, to well manage the full life cycle of system quality

assurance.

• Continuous Improvement

Support our software development practices by identifying and guiding continuous

improvement projects in coordination with other teams. And promote good quality

assurance practices and procedures to leverage team's knowledge and efficiency.

Coordinate with other team members to create and maintain software quality

assurance documentation.

• Lead Automated Testing Activities

Design and lead QA team to develop automated testing platforms using industrial

matured testing methodologies, including commercial/open source tools, scripts and

appropriate data set.

• People management

Oversees projects to make sure work is scheduled based on priorities, risks and team

strengths and assignment of resources across projects. Leads/mentors Test Engineers

and shares knowledge to make sure QA staff meets technical qualifications required for

their positions Assists in coaching junior staff, by helping them to make decisions,

solve problems, manage meetings and set goals, provides feedback on testing-related

tasks, delegates and assigns testing responsibilities Assists in formulating QA

standards and best practices Assists in recruiting new staff, conducting interviews and

evaluate potential candidates

Working Experience

• Minimum 7.5 years of working experience within software industry.
• A test engineer who has at least 3 year experience in enterprising software testing.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience as QA leader and have experience on people management, coaching, performance review, reporting etc.

Competencies, Skills and Behaviors

• Good understanding for company business, workflow and procedures.
• Good understanding for industry ERP system.
• Has a good knowledge of application-under-test functionality and application requirements so as to perform software testing proficiently, including functional, automation, regression, stress and integration testing.
• Familiar with at least 3+ popular test tools and their usage.
• Proficient in test case design and arrange effective test plan which is always consist with project release schedule.
• Familiar with the software development lifecycle and agile software development process.
• Good QA documentation design experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and across departments with different stakeholders.
• Good teamwork and good English communication skills.
