Software Engineering Manager, Google Enterprise Network

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  
• 6 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects, with 6 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  
• Experience with architecture and designs needed to build a large-scale distributed systems in the cloud.
  
• Experience with Network Management Systems and Web Applications.

Lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for the systems that automate the management of the network. Play a key role in bringing a new model for enterprise networking to the market that is more secure and has much greater development velocity than traditional networking solutions.

• Lead the team technically by contributing to defining the new architecture of a systems that automate the management of NextGEN network systems.
• Prioritize teams deliverables to ensure smooth, quality and timely execution of deliverables.
• Work with Partner teams to understand their requirements and build systems that ensure that changes are correctly applied to the network.
• Anticipate scaling bottlenecks or shifts in usage, increase availability and reliability, or make data-driven optimizations and adjustments.
• Own significant portions of the design of systems including authoring and presenting design specifications.
