Job Description
Sr. Software Development Engineers are experienced professionals that design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. They have in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise in software development. Sr. Software Development Engineers interact with internal and external teams to train them on the products, work on projects independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. In this role, you will mentor and guide others by reviewing the code of more junior software engineers as well as encourage others to grow their technical skillset. Sr. Software Development Engineers are creative problem solvers and are involved in continuously driving improvements across the software development life cycle as well as ensure best practices are utilized.
About The Role
In this opportunity as a Software Engineer, you will:
- Development activities:
- Develop efficient and high-quality code while meeting product release deadlines.
- Translate architectural vision into the design and delivery of a functioning system.
- Ensure adherence to architectural and design standards.
- Develop deployment and rollout plans as needed.
- Assist leads to prepare time estimates for projects and software design plans.
- Write good technical design documentation and technical approach.
- Design all test cases to provide support to all systems and perform unit tests.
- Perform peer code reviews: verify extensibility, reusability and maintainability.
- Individual must be proactive, self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple project tasks.
- Production Support & Maintenance activities:
- Respond quickly to support issues and follow up till resolution.
- Conduct thorough troubleshooting and provide quick resolution to production problems.
- Follow up and provide timely reporting on issues to management.
About You
In this opportunity as a Software Engineer, you will:
- 3+ years of background in software development with Java technologies.
- 3+ years of experience with J2EE framework based development using design patterns.
- 3+ years working with large relational database such as Oracle/SQL.
- 1+ years of XML technologies.
- Understanding of iterative, use case driven development.
- Core Java , J2EE, App Server (WebSphere/Tomcat), Oracle/SQL, Unix (Linux).
- Experience with frameworks such as Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, Restful Web Services, NodeJS.
- Strong Database Experience with strong knowledge of writing complex SQL scripts.
- Experience with UI technologies such as JavaScript, AngularJS, ReactJS.
- Proficient in XML, XSLT, XSD and related technologies.
- Application of Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques and implementation using Design Patterns.
- Knowledge to create unit level tests using Junit/Mockito and experience with Shell scripting.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Junit/Mockito and continuous integration testing with Cruise Control/Junit.
- Experience with Build tools such as Ant, IVY, Maven, Gradle, etc.
- Experience in extensive use of source control tools such as GIT, TFS, etc.
- Ability to interact effectively within and across other teams.
- Strong technical acumen and communications skills.
- Background in Test Driven Development, pair programming, and other agile/XP methodologies preferred.
