Software Engineer R&D
We Elevate... Your Responsibilities
The job holder develops elevator control SW for embedded systems or application software running on Linux or Windows. This includes various disciplines such as analysis & design, implementation, documentation and SW testing. In addition, communication throughout the project team must be assured by actively involving requirement and test team members. According to Schindler's development standards and processes, he/she is responsible for the quality of their own development results. Also, a proactive mindset and ability to work independently is required. He / She is responsible for informing himself/herself about all legal requirements such as industry-specific regulations, internal regulations, national, Indian and other technical standards and to follow them without exception in his / her area of responsibility. In safety aspects, there is no exception to the only principle: When in doubt, safety prevails. In addition, civil and criminal laws set standards that must be complied with.
Main Responsibilities:
- Development of software (firmware, embedded or application SW) by keeping focus on the R&D CO mission statements.
- Develop high quality SW, which is maintainable for a long period of time and allows short time to market for additional features. This includes the following tasks: -
- Analysis and implementation of SW according to state of the art technologies
- Document the development work (including source code documentation)
- Document the SW component design
- Review of own development work and development work from others
- Continuous improvements (Refactoring) where applicable
- Develop and write concepts and specifications
- Build up work specific know how
Artifact Responsibilities
- Based on Scrum SW development process the employee is responsible for the following artefacts: Implementation Code, Design Model, Unit Test Cases (Implementation), SW Realization Documents, Detail Design Documents.

4-7 years as embedded software development for Software Engineer
In-depth knowledge of the daily used development languages:
- Embedded development, C, C++, C#, XML,
script languages. of communication standards and protocols:
RS232, RS485, CAN etc.
Team member experience of Agile software development methodology(Scrum)
