Cisco Cloud Security Group is at the forefront of developing cloud-delivered security needs and challenges of our customers. The Cloud Security group focuses on developing cloud delivered security solutions (SaaS based) in a platform centric approach. This group was formed a couple of years ago by combining some of existing cloud assets Cisco had with two hugely successful acquisitions - OpenDNS and CloudLock. Our vision is to build the most complex security solutions in a cloud delivered way with utmost simplicity - disrupt industry's thinking around how deep and how broad a security solution can be while keeping it easy to deploy and simple to manage. Who You'll Work With

The Brain teams core responsibility is to build highly resilient systems which distribute a continuous flow of our customers policy data to thousands of DNS resolvers, proxies, and other policy application services around the globe.

What You'll Do

As a cloud engineer of the Brain team you will:

• Develop solutions to extend and enhance the infrastructure of the geographically distributed policy API and transport system
• Manage and maintain the cloud infrastructure used by Brain
• Participate in/drive design discussions, threat modeling and risk management of our infrastructure
• Drive efforts to achieve/maintain compliance such as SOC2, FedRAMP, etc

About You

You enjoy working with globally distributed, loosely coupled systems in the cloud. You are self-driven and highly motivated to deliver top-tier solutions with minimal guidance. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work well within a team. You are open to continuous learning and committed to ongoing self-improvement.

You have:

• Development experience in languages such as Python
• Experience building geographically distributed and fault tolerant systems
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes
• Experience deploying, administering, and scaling geographically distributed systems using Kubernetes/EKS
• Experience with building tooling / automation to reduce manual efforts

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Ansible
• Development experience in Golang and/or PHP
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus
• Good understanding of Web technologies
