Software Engineer

The Helpful Smiles Technology Global Center (HST Global) in Bangalore is a division of the Hy-Vee IT team named as the Helpful Smiles Technology Centre based in the US.

It supports Hy-Vee's business growth and modernization needs by accelerating the adoption of technology across enterprise operations. It offers tech talent the unique opportunity to transform retail technology at Hy-Vee and understand different markets and cultural dynamics, as well as the opportunity to work locally and remotely on IT challenges. The Hy-Vee team is looking to expand its capabilities in Bangalore. HST Global will serve the entire IT organization across roles and functions.

Responsibilities:

Understand and apply foundational organization and industrial engineering principles and core

competencies; start to identify opportunities to improve.

Implements tasks of moderate scope with mostly defined specifications sometimes aided by direction

or guidance from more experienced engineers. Demonstrates consistency, dependability, and

confidence in the work delivered.

Understand the team's product, domain, and vision and how it fits into the overall business.

Understand team practices and processes and begin to discuss improvements with the team.

Willingness to enter areas of ambiguity and unfamiliarity, often assisted by more experienced

engineers when needed.

Manage risk by attempting to unblock themselves before seeking help. Need to have the ability to

identify potential problems before it escalates into major issues. Initiate the process of evaluating

potential solutions by carefully considering the implications of each available option.

Begin to identify tech debt, start to identify opportunities to improve, and sometimes make

recommendations on how to implement.

Technical & Business Expertise

Desire to grow as an individual through continuously learning new techniques.

Experience working within an environment with a mindset of delivering consistently. Comfortable

contributing in and to this kind of environment following existing patterns. Starting to identify

opportunities to improve the process.

A few years of experience developing and creating applications.

Heightened awareness of the importance of security.

Engineering Skills

Minimum Qualifications (Primary and Mandatory):

3 to 6 years of relevant IT experience, full stack developer

Working with Git version control.

React JS, JavaScript, Node JS or C#.Net stack is mandatory

Integration and implementation of RESTful APIs
