Software Engineer

• Lead CI/CD activities, management of environments and management of tooling used to support reporting development


• Lead the identification, creation, refinement and development of technical work required to improve the reliability and supportability of the applications


• Support the design and develop application features to expected team standards, working closely with team


• Create, review and maintain technical and functional documentation as required


• Lead engagements with Technical SMEs and global architecture teams on application design


• Lead impact analysis of hardware upgrades and software launches


• Participate in pair programming as required


• Support maintenance and developing new IT Controls (GRC/Application Assessments /AFR/ITPM/S-Ox/Audit); Ensure appropriate use of Ford IT processes, tools and methodologies


• Support continuous improvement of departmental processes

• 10+ years experience in developing ETL solutions and implementations. With bulk of that experience with IBM Datastage products.


• Working knowledge of version control systems (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD tools (Cloud Build), setting up and efficiently managing pipelines


• Working knowledge of cloud platforms in reporting (GCP)


• Experience of working to customer requirements, coordinating delivery of quality work within an agreed time-box


• Strong prioritisation, co-ordination, organisational and communication skills, with ability to work in a large diverse team


• Demonstrated evidence of architecture practices


• Customer focused and strong team orientation


• Ability to work closely within an Agile and PDO team environment


• Understand ETL requirements - Convert the requirement to technical specifications.


• Analyse data/requirements to generate logic for creating ETL Processes


• Responsible for creation of ETL designs and hands on experience of working on DataStage ETL tool.


• Good knowledge in Databases- On-prem (Preferably Teradata) and/or Cloud (Big Query preferred)


• Strong Knowledge on Unix scripting


• Support all development and unit testing activities.


• Work with onshore POC to get the requirements and create end to end source to target mapping (STM)


• Identify dependencies/risks, issues in development and communicate in a timely manner.


• Support the implementation of Unix and ETL infrastructure.


• Experience in ETL migration activities (DataStage to DataStage Cloud Pak) will be a bonus.


• Willingness to learn new technologies and scale knowledge.
